The pros and cons of silicone vs cartilage rhinplasty surgery are largely similar. The surgeon uses either one or the other. The surgical procedure takes about an hour. Both types of surgery require local anesthesia. Afterward, patients can return home. However, there are some differences between the two procedures. Patients with the latter should consult their doctors for follow-up appointments. Those with silicone implants should avoid trauma to the nose.

Although David Cassidy may not have had the highest net worth among his celebrity peers, his music and legacy continue to resonate with fans today.

When comparing the pros and cons of silicone versus cartilage rhinoplasty, the first factor to consider is price. Silicone implants are significantly cheaper than cartilage and Gore-Tex. They are also easy to carve. Your plastic surgeon can tailor them to fit your facial features and needs. You can choose either one based on your cosmetic goals and budget. Both options have their pros and cons.

Another factor to consider is complication rate. One study found a greater RR for patients with cartilage compared to those with AC. In addition, the AC group had a lower secondary surgery rate and reported fewer complications than the silicone group. However, despite these differences, this research has limited validity. In the future, more high-quality studies are needed to evaluate the risks of using either material for rhinoplasty.

Although silicone implants have many advantages, there are certain disadvantages to this material for nose augmentation. They are less durable and do not provide as natural a result. Furthermore, silicone does not grow back after the surgery and is likely to warp again. Silicone implants should only be used for the bridge of the nose, but not the tip. Unlike cartilage, silicone implants cannot be used in the tip of the nose. However, they can give you a beautiful bridge that is natural-looking and symmetric.
