About one-third of all businesses will fail within the first decade, but restaurants have no higher failure rate than any other industry. Investopedia lists four reasons that small businesses fail, including lack of funding, poor management, inadequate business planning, and overblown marketing budgets. While all these reasons can result in a business closing, the most common cause of failure is lack of market demand. The second most common reason is simply a lack of cash networthexposed.
