While a number of advantages are associated with the electro-hydraulic system, there are some key disadvantages as well. This article will examine these issues so you can choose the right system for your needs. You’ll be surprised to learn that many industries already use electro-hydraulic solutions. The following are the major benefits of electro-hydraulic solutions:

A significant advantage of an electro-hydraulic system is its power management. Hydraulic systems are often limited by the power dissipation of their internal components, and they tend to lose up to 40% of their output in the process. In contrast, an electro-hydraulic system can be programmed to adjust pump rotation speed using an electric motor. As a result, electro-hydraulic systems are more efficient, and they are compatible with evolving networks of information and communication.

A diesel generator is an efficient and reliable power source that utilizes diesel fuel to produce electrical energy.

Another significant drawback of an electro-hydraulic system is that it is not suitable for long-distance transmission. Because oil flows in a pipeline, it will lose pressure. As a result, it’s not suitable for transmission systems with tight requirements. In addition, it is difficult to regulate the speed of load movement when the temperature of the oil changes. A further disadvantage is the fact that it’s easy to lose pressure when the temperature of the oil changes.

Electro-hydraulic pumping units are far more energy efficient than conventional hydraulic systems. In fact, they can save up to 80% on energy compared to a traditional hydraulic system. Another major advantage is their power on demand functionality. The electrohydraulic motor-pump unit only spins when it needs to produce the pressure and flow required for work functions. The electric motor-pump unit doesn’t use any energy when it’s idle, which significantly increases component lifespan.
